A heist to steal cultural artifacts inspired by true events.

Juan and Benjamín are caught in a state of stasis. Seemingly unable to finish their veterinary degrees, neither have a girlfriend—even worse, they both still live with their parents. Dreaming of greatness, with no clear path to achieving it, one fateful Christmas Eve they contrive of a plan to make a name for themselves: breaking into Mexico City’s iconic Natural Anthropology Museum, where they will steal cultural artifacts spanning millennia.

Inspired by true events and filmed in the same lively, stylish tone as his debut Güeros, Alonso Ruizpalacios’s second film begins as a heist film before meandering into more uncertain territory. Museo premiered at BFI London, Karlovy Vary; Athens, where it won Best Director; and Berlin, where it won the Silver Bear for Best Screenplay.
