Filmatique at NYFF

The New York Film Festival has long been a paragon of the year in cinema, curating premier selections from Berlin, Rotterdam, Cannes, Locarno, and Venice into a package that leaves little room for trifles or flukes. Filmatique, accordingly, hosts many titles from NYFFs past, and as Lincoln Center prepares for the 60th iteration we wanted to highlight some of the best shared between us.

Herein you'll run a range from Miguel Gomes' three-part opus ARABIAN NIGHTS to Jia Zhangke's violent exploration of modern China; the final films of Jean-Luc Godard, Derek Jarman, and Andrei Tarkovsky; and, of course, the emergence of major new talent, as Filmatique is wont to display.
